Feb 4- 2026

Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Eddison Mensah Agbenyegah, on Tuesday, 4 February 2026, formally presented his Letters of Credence to King Willem-Alexander at the Royal Palace in The Hague, officially marking the commencement of his diplomatic duties.

The ceremony was conducted in accordance with established diplomatic protocol. The Ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the Government and people of Ghana and reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to deepening the cordial and longstanding relations between the two countries. He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Vera Agbenyegah, and senior officials of the Ghana Embassy in The Hague, including Prof. Emmanuel Netsey-Afedo, Deputy Head of Mission; Mr. William Charles Manful, Minister and Head of Chancery; Mrs. Priscilla Ankomah, Minister responsible for Consular Affairs; and Mrs. Naa Lamiokor Mills Barnes, First Secretary (Political and Economic Affairs).

The discussions centred on opportunities for enhanced technical and development cooperation, with particular emphasis on leveraging Dutch expertise to support Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), particularly the Volta Economic Corridor Project.

His Majesty recalled his official visit to Ghana in April 2002 as Crown Prince to commemorate 300 years of diplomatic relations between Ghana and the Netherlands.

The presentation of the Letters of Credence marks a significant milestone in Ghana–Netherlands relations and signals a renewed phase of diplomatic engagement and cooperation between the two nations.
